Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) akan menyalurkan sedikitnya 1.450 Beasiswa Bidikmisi dari Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan bagi mahasiswa baru 2012.

Pembantu Rektor Bidang Akademik Agus Wahyudin MSi mengemukakan hal itu berdasarkan daftar kuota Bidikmisi yang dikeluarkan oleh Direktorat Pembelajaran dan Kemahasiswaan Ditjen Dikti Kemdiknas, akhir pekan lalu, di Jakarta.

“Jumlah ini tergolong sangat banyak dibandingkan dengan PTN lain. Bahkan masih dimungkinkan bertambah, karena kami sedang mengajukan permintaan tambahan,” katanya.

Dia menandaskan, untuk Jawa Tengah, Unnes merupakan PTN dengan kuota terbanyak. Sebagai perbandingan, Universitas Diponegoro memperoleh kepercayaan untuk menyalurkan 500, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman 450, Universitas Sebelas Maret 500, dan Institut Seni Indonesia Surakarta 75.

Dikemukakannya, secara nasional Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan akan mengucurkan 30.00 paket beasiswa Bidikmisi bagi mahasiswa baru 2012 PTN. Beasiswa diberikan sebesar Rp 6 juta per semester selama empat tahun studi.

PR I juga mengemukakan, Bidikmisi yang merupakan beasiswa full study itu diberikan kepada mereka yang berasal dari keluarga tidak mampu secara ekonomi namun berprestasi akademik baik. “Dapat digolongkan tidak mampu secara ekonomi jika pendapatan gabungan orang tua tidak lebih dari Rp3 juta atau pendapatan per kapita tanggungan kurang dari Rp600 ribu. Semua itu antara lain bisa dibuktikan dengan surat keterangan tidak mampu, rekening listrik, air, dan/atau telepon. Juga diperkuat dengan foto kondisi rumah tinggal,” katanya.

Adapun yng dimaksud berprestasi akademik baik adalah berada pada 30% urutan prestasi terbaik di sekolah atau sesuai dengan ketentuan SNMPTN Jalur Undangan. “Prestasi hingga peringkat ketiga tingkat kabupaten/kota juga akan menjadi nilai tambah,” katanya seraya mengemukakan, lulusan SMA/MA/SMK 2011 bisa mendaftarkan diri untuk mendapatkan beasiswa ini.

Beasiswa sebesar itu, menurutnya, akan meliputi bantuan biaya penyelenggaraan pendidikan yang digunakan sebagai pembebasan biaya pendidikan dan bantuan biaya hidup. “Jadi, yang diterima mahasiswa adalah porsi untuk biaya hidup, yakni minimal Rp600 ribu per bulan,” katanya.

Terkait dengan SNMPTN Jalur Undangan yang pendaftarannya akan mulai dibuka mulai Rabu, 1 Februari 2012, PR I mengemukakan, pendaftaran Bidikmisi terintegrasi juga dengan jalur seleksi nasional tersebut. “Kemdikbud menyediakan kuota 80.000 gartis bagi pendaftar Bidikmisi yang tiket itu bisa digunakan saat mendaftarkan diri di SNMPTN Jalur Undangan, Jalur Ujian Tulis, bahkan ujian mandiri. Bisa digunakan tidak hanya sekali,” katanya.

Semarang State University (Unnes) is one of the biggest state universities in Indonesia which was established in 1965. It is the first university that declared itself as the Conservation University in Indonesia. This conservation university was declared by Rector of Semarang State University in a glorious declaration attended by the Minister of National Education of Indonesia on March 12th, 2010. When it was first established in 1965, it was a Teacher Training College (IKIP). It accommodated the need of teachers around Central Java and gave a great attention to education. Then, by the Indonesian Presidential Decree No. 124 in 1999, IKIP Semarang was converted to be Semarang State University.

CONSERVATION: A GREAT VISION
Unnes is a conservation university. The idea of conservation has become its vision to be an international conservation university which is healthy, outstanding and prosperous. Regarding the vision, Unnes determine to consistently uphold the idea of protection, preservation, utilization and sustainable development of natural and cultural resources of Indonesia. Unnes also put conservation as a manifestation of the main duties of university, namely education, research and community service.
Mission of Unnes is:

Unnes has qualified education staff (lecturers). They are 34 active professors and 116 doctors. Unnes has 5 locations of campus, namely Sekaran campus, Bendan Ngisor campus, Kelud campus, Karanganyar campus and Tegal campus. The location of campus is quite comfortable, wide and green.
